Didmus Barasa, the Kimilili Member of Parliament chided Murang’a Senator Irungu Kang’ata over his new role as the Jubilee Party Chief Whip at the Senate.
“Irungu Kang’ata should know that Kenya is bigger than him. I think I can forgive him for now because he seems excited over his new role, however, he will calm down maybe in a few months’ time,” Barasa claimed.
“I pity Irungu Kang’ata because he has become the biggest sycophant of our time, and he is letting down the Parliament,” noted Barasa.
Days after replacing Susan Kihika as the new Senate Chief Whip, Kang’ata on Friday, May 22 tabled a motion to oust Senate Deputy Speaker Kithure Kindiki.
Kang’ata also on Saturday, May 23 revealed that Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei, Bomet Senator Christopher Langat, Laikipia Senator John Kinyua, Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot were all facing the axe in Senate.
Speaking to a local news site, Barasa also explained that Deputy President William Ruto’s silence is tactical since he doesn’t want to get into a direct confrontation with the president.
“He does not have to make noise. The Deputy President is focused on distributing food reliefs to thousands of Kenyans and feeding the hustlers nation,” explained Baraza.
The MP added that the Deputy President is a very senior person in this country and cannot come out to answer the likes of Irungu Kang’ata.
Ruto on Saturday, May 23 donated goats to the vulnerable Muslim communities in various mosques in preparation for Idd-ul-Fitr.
The Deputy President also distributed food to families in Nachu and inspected the construction of Marengeta Dam on Wednesday, May 20.
