Raila Odinga and his allies in the Azimio la Umoja movement took their campaigns to Nakuru county on Wednesday.
The team met with locals of Njoro, Molo, Elburgon and Nakuru town in a bid to convince them to support Azimio la Umoja in the general elections slated for August 9, 2022.
Raila mentioned his agendas and developments that he will bring to the people once he is voted in as president including ensuring that the country is peaceful and united.
“I want to see a country where we all can live and work freely anywhere in the four corners of our country,” the former prime minister said.
“We will also build factories in agricultural zones to ensure our farmers don’t run into losses as a result of spoiled produce,” he added.
There was however drama in one of the rallies when a man found himself shouting UDA in the midst of the rally as aspirants introduced themselves
The man, believed to be one of the aspirants, campaigned for UDA but he realized his mistake and corrected it.
“Harambeeee! UDA!! Azimio la Umoja!!..pole, pole,” he apologized before giving back the microphone to the master of ceremony.
Judging from the video that was widely shared on YouTube, it was clear that the man knew what he was doing and he had not been carried away.
The rest who were on the lineup for introduction were denied a chance to speak and were only introduced by the MC who claimed that time was not on their side.
Elsewhere, the Azimio convoy was greeted with chants of Ruto and Azimio however there was no case of violence reported.
