President elect William Ruto’s lawyer Fred Ngatia on Tuesday complained that he would not manage to match the many lawyers representing the petitioners.
According to Ngatia, his client William Ruto was only given four lawyers while the petitioners side had more lawyers representing him.
As a result, Ngatia admitted that it would be very difficult to argue against almost sixteen lawyers all arguing in favor of the Azimio leader Raila odinga. However, Kenyans interpreted Ngatia’s complaints as a sign of panic which he ought not to have raised if at all his client won the election fairly.
“I think Fred Ngatia should not complain about the number of lawyers allocated to them as long as they have reasonable time to debate their case. As kenya Kwanza supporter he is giving me goosebumps. Dont panic my lawyer.” Said Felix Kiprono.
“I think the issue of number of lawyers should not arise as long as someone has mastered the case. This guy is a good lawyer and I don’t expect him to cry over how many lawyers the doyen has.” Said Catherine Wanjiku.
This comes a few hours after William Ruto’s online spokesperson Dennis Itumbi expressed his dissatisfaction at the few number of lawyers Ruto.
“From a Layman point of view, the Directions on Counsel is UNFAIR.THE parties seeking to NULLIFY WSR’s election will be represented by about TWENTY lawyers. Yet, WSR will only be represented by 4 lawyers. In Essence if each lawyer is handed 30minutes.Those who want NULLIFICATION will have TEN hours and those defending the win will have TWO hours. If time is allocated to parties and each party is handed 2 hours, a similar situation applies. But I know the Court will revise the outright Unfair allocation!” Complained Itumbi.
