President William Ruto has spoken on his decision to include members of opposition to his new cabinet.
According to him, the move was intended to do away with discrimination and uniting Kenyans for development purposes.
The president was speaking in Tharaka Nithi on Thursday, during the commissioning of a water project
“Yesterday I formed a government to unite all Kenyans because there is no longer need to discriminate among each other. We want to pay taxes together, we want to clear national debts together and also undertake developments together. All of us are paying taxes. Let’s unite and form a country that will unite Kenyans and forge for development,” he said.
He urged Kenyans to refrain from protests and violence that would destroy the country through theft and killings.
“We don’t have a spare country. There is no where else we will go to after destroying this country. Or is there anyone who has another country that all of us can go to? We were given this country by God. We should unite and protect our country. We should plan developments and ensure that there is no violence or deaths,” he said.
