Deputy president William Samoei Ruto has said that his chicken farming earns him more money on a daily basis which no leader in government doing poultry business can achieve.
Ruto while responding to CS Matiang’i clarified that he makes 1.5 million Kenya shillings a day from eggs alone since he has more than 200,000 layers with each egg going at 10 Kenya shillings.
As a result, the second in command confessed that the eggs alone give him 45 million monthly.
Further, Ruto said that he has other businesses that earn him millions of money in a day for instance exporting avocados worth millions of shillings, getting millions from his hotels, getting millions from his insurance firm, getting millions as salary of DP, getting millions from his shares of media, farming business and estates that give him millions.
Cumulatively, William Ruto said that he makes more than 50 million in a day and more than 1.5 billion monthly.
His sentiments came just a day after interior cabinet secretary Dr. Fred Matiang’i accused DP William Ruto of lying that is security had been taken away.
Matiang’i listed at least 10 properties owned by Ruto across the country and which are protected by police round the clock.
The properties listed include Kitengela Gas – six officers, Weston Hotel -four officers and Murumbi Farm – six officers.
The CS also listed ADC Laikipia Mutara Ranch with six officers, Dolphine Hotel in Mombasa with six, Mata Farm with six and the DP’s private residence in Elgon View Eldoret with four.
The size of land the DP owns also appeared on the list provided by Matiang’i. It shows Ruto owns a total of 7,497 hectares/18,525 acres of land across the country.
The large parcels of land Ruto owns which were indicated in the list include;Â 395 hectares Murumbi farm in Transmara, Narok county, 6,073 hectares ADC Mutara Ranch in Laikipia county, 3 hectares Dolphine hotel in Mombasa county and 1026 hectares Mata Farm in Taita Taveta county
