President William Ruto and his Deputy Rigathi Gachagua splashed Ksh15 Million to buy goats on Thursday December 14.
Presiding over the auction, President Ruto announced that he would purchase 1,000 goats at a price of Ksh15,000 each together with his deputy.
Hundreds of leaders who were in attendance also bought goats ranging between 150 and 5.
Ruto who gained prominence through the annual auction in Baringo allowed other leaders to buy at Ksh13, 000.
“Mambo nimawili… hakuna deni na hakuna cheque. ni cash,” said Ruto while leading the auction.
In 2022, each goat fetched Ksh12,000 at the Kimalel goat auction which is meant to benefit the local communites.
Some of the leaders present included Transport CS Murkomen who purchased 150 goats, MP Oscar Sudi (150), MPs from Baringo (120), Governor Cheboi (100), Belgut MP Nelson Koech (100), KNCCI President Dr. Eric Ruto (100) Senator Cheptumo (50).
