President William Ruto on Wednesday, October 4 appointed former nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura as Government Spokesperson.
In a notice issued by Head of Public Service Felix Koskei, Mwaura who was first nominated as Chief Administrative Secretary at the office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary before it was declared unconstitutional, will be deputized by veteran journalist Mwanaisha Chidzuga.
Political analyst Gabriel Muthuma was also appointed as Deputy Government Spokesperson.
The reconstitution of the office of the Government Spokesperson follows recommendations from the Public Service Commission.
In the Jubilee administration which was led by former President Uhuru Kenyatta, Cyrus Oguna was the government spokesperson while Kanze Dena served as State House spokesperson, a role that Hussein Mohamed assumed in Ruto’s administration.
