Ruto Ana Madharau Akwende- Kisii Voters Tell Him After Donating 1 Million

Deputy president William Samoei Ruto on Sunday had a hostile reception in some parts of Kisii town with aggrieved voters chanting ODM, moments after he left church and made a contribution of one million.

From the video clip in possession of Sonko News, these locals were chanting Raila/ODM just seconds after DP Ruto passed the center they were in.

Sonko News reporters from the ground have since established that the deputy president was acting on an intelligence that the center was full of ODM diehards who would boo him after leaving the church .

“ODM Baba, ODM Baba, ODM Baba, ODM Baba.” Chanted the locals.

As a result, the second in command decided to pass the center in a bid to save face since it would not be fun to come across angry netizens chanting the name of his political opponent Raila Odinga.

Ruto’s visit to Kisii comes a day after he went to Nakuru county to drum up support for the bottom up economic development model.

While addressing congregants during a church service at the Deliverance Church International in Kisii town, the DP reiterated that his bottom-up economic ideology, which has been widely opposed by his rival politicians, was one way of lifting everyone in the society without leaving anyone behind.

“He (God) raises the poor out of the dust and makes them sit with the kings and princes,” he quoted a Bible verse from Psalms 113:7-8 then gave out one million and promised to bring another million from the chicken sales.

With regards to the church, Ruto hit at his political opponents who only visit church premises to compete with him.

“Many politicians come to church because I have evangelized to them. Please welcome them even though they come with a lot of noise sometimes. Some preach the word of God out of strife, envy and presence, what matters is that the word of God is being preached,” he stated.

According to Standard Digital, the expected United Democratic Alliance presidential candidate in next year’s polls will open Bomachoge Chache CDF offices in Ogembo town, then address residents in the afternoon.

Standard added that details revealed by Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi (coordinator of the tour) indicated that Ruto will visit South Mugirango and Nyamarambee on Monday morning.

“He will visit South Mugirango Constituency where he will launch two new buses for two secondary schools in the area before addressing members of the public at Nyamarambe,” Maangi said.
