Sonko News has learnt from credible sources that all is not well for deputy president William Samoei Ruto in the Mt. Kenya region.
According to the Jubilee Vice Chairman David Murathe, deputy president William Ruto is set to hold an emergency meeting to discuss his misfortunes in the Central part of Kenya.
“Intelligence reaching my desk is that anytime from now, The Sugoi man will organize a crisis meeting to reflect on the popularity they have been losing in the Mt. Kenya region. This is after today’s Azimio meeting in Ihura Stadium.” Said David Murathe.
Another top source close to the DP also narrated to Sonko News that Ruto’s biggest worry is the fact that he is quickly losing his popularity in the Mountain despite camping and campaigning there immediately they were sworn into office in 2017, unlike Raila who just started visiting the Mountain a few months ago.
“Prior to the 2013 and 2017 general elections, the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga could not step foot in Mt. Kenya region but nowadays he not only has key allies from the region but has also holds many campaign meetings in the area.” said the source within the DP’s circles.
“As a result, our boss is the most worried man because he thought that the Mountain could buy the obvious negative campaign narratives that have always been propelled against Raila and reject him. This is our biggest headache.” He continued.
While speaking to Citizen TV, Nyandarua governor Francis Kimemia admitted that Raila Odinga was a victim of dirty politics which were purely meant for winning the elections and nothing else.
According to Kimemia, all they specialized in was to destroy Raila’s name in the past and it was high time the people of Mt. Kenya region became honest with themselves and back Raila Odinga since the man has never been bad as earlier preached.
“But you know we must change the narrative. Those days our work was just to malign the name of Raila Odinga and call him all sorts of names. The time has come we must be honest with ourselves and tell our people that it was all politics
“This was politics to win elections but we went overboard and personal with Raila Odinga. We just need to go back to our people and tell them what the real Raila comprises.”
Kimemia further recalled reminding Karatina residents that the opposition leader is the one who prepared the cabinet paper for the institution.
“When we went to Karatina, we reminded the locals that Raila Odinga was the chair of the cabinet which came up with the paper to establish the university. These residents took interest in those sentiments because people have been thinking that the ODM leader cannot engage and support other communities.
“So we must change that propaganda. Let everyone go back then we start a new journey full of truth and forgive one another so that we can build a nation that will prosper in the years to come.” He stated
To further worsen Ruto’s situation as added by the source, the second in command since bagging Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula is tied between focusing his campaign efforts in the Western part of Kenya or spending more time in the Central region. However, doing either of the two means he will have to forego one region and so he must balance between the two regions if he is to make a significant impact.
Besides, he is not sure whether Musalia will deliver to him the Western votes given how his own members of parliament from the Amani national Congress (ANC) party have dumped him like hell and are now allied to Raila Odinga.
Finally, the source disclosed that the deep state factor is making Ruto not to sleep because from the history, its alleged that the opposition leader used to win but he was being denied his victory under mysterious circumstances.
“My boss Ruto fears that with the backing of the deep state, the Raila will automatically send him back to Sugoi before polling stations open at 6AM given how he had been performing in the past elections with no deep state on his end.” He conluded.
