William Ruto ally Bahati MP Onesmus Kimani Ngunjiri has cautioned Raila Odinga that he is rubbing shoulders with the very same people who stole his votes in 2007.
Ngunjiri called out Nyandarua governor Francis Kimemia over his comment on Kiambaa church which was burnt on January 1st 2008 at the height of 2007/2008 post election violence.
Kimemia recounted painful memories of Kenya Assemblies of God Pentecostal Church in Kiambaa, Uasin Gishu county during Raila’s visit in Nyeri.
Around 30 people were burned to death while the attackers chased others into the surrounding fields, hacking at them with machetes.
The attackers were members of the ethnic Kalenjin community while the victims were Kikuyus.
The Bahati MP while responding to Kimemia comment about Kiambaa violence stressed that the victims’ blood are in the hands of the Nyandarua governor.
Ngunjiri noted that more that 1,100 people killed in 2007/2008 post election violence was because Kimemia and his group rigged the presidential election in favor of Mwai Kibaki.
The vocal Ruto ally said Kimemia who was the Permanent Secretary for Internal Security used his position to rig Raila’s vote causing the violence.
“Former PS Kimemia akiwa huko Nyeri akidanganya Raila macho kwa macho. I want to say this, hio mambo Kimemia anasema – mambo ya Kiambaa ati siku moja watu walizikwa 38 – you Kimemia I want to tell you this, by that time wewe ulikua PS wa Internal Security. Na nyinyi Kimemia na group yako that is the time muliiba kura ya Raila Odinga. The chaos of the people you were burying tulikua tunazika watu kwa sababu wewe ulikua unaongoza wizi ya kura ambayo iliibiwa. Watu walikufa kwa sababu ya kura ile nyinyi muliiba ukiwa PS. Nataka kukuukiza hio kidonda unataka kurudisha ukisema ‘Kiambaa Kiambaa’ wewe uko na damu ya watu wetu in Rift Valley on your hands,” Kimani Ngunjiri said.
He added that;
“Don’t cheat Raila Odinga, Raila Odinga I want to remind you the people who stole your vote it is Kimemia wakati alikua PS na akafanya watu wakufe. Sasa wewe unaanza kutembea na watu aina hio. Na anaenda kudanganya watu Nyeri ati siku moja walizika watu 38 people, yes wale wewe mwenyewe ulifanya wakufe.”
Kimemia in a September 2021 interview on Citizen TV admitted that ‘deep state’ rigged the election to deny Raila the presidency.
