Deputy president Rigathi Gachagua has hailed the outgoing Education CS for his continued contributions towards the education sector although his term is coming to an end.
Speaking during the induction of the task force set to review the Competency-Based Curriculum he noted that Magoha was committed to putting the team in place and ensuring that it gets to work.
“The outgoing CS we want to thank you for your commitment in assisting to put this team in place. You have expressed patriotism that though you are outgoing you did not walk away and say let other people come and take care of it. You have been very committed and you have assisted in getting this team to get to work,” Rigathi said.
The DP further assured the CS that no one is in a hurry to kick him out of the office and the government will consult him whenever need arises.
“We want to assure you that we are not in a hurry to get rid of you, take your time this is your country, this is your government and although there will be an incoming CS I am sure you will hold his hand and you are a senior citizen who has served this country with distinction and when need arises and we need your input I am sure the president will be able to call upon you to come and help us,” he said.
Rigathi’s remarks come just a few days after Magoha announced his next plans as his tenure in the education ministry comes to an end.
He said that he will go back to teaching at universities as well as practicing surgical medicine in his clinic.
