The reckless accusations by socialite Shakilla that Victor Wanyama had a sexual relationship with her in exchange for Sh700,000 has handed the Harambee Stars captain scandalous and unnecessary publicity abroad.
The 19-year-old teenager made the claims in an online interview with controversial blogger Xtian Dela, whose real name is Aurther Mandela.
Shakila turned into an overnight sensation with scandalous claims over her sexual escapades with several Kenyan celebrities including Wanyama, rapper Khaligraph Jones, Willy Paul, and Otile Brown.
And Victor Wanyama was quick to deny the claims threatening to sue her for maligning his name.
But Shakila stood by her word despite threats of a legal suit from the star footballer.
In fact, she has issued threats of her own via social media.
And international media houses like the British tabloid the Sun and Mirror had a field day with the story although many Kenyans thought the Wanyama story was of little import and was only meant to tarnish the Montreal Impact star’s name.
The sun went to press with the catchy headline, ” ‘FALSE AND INSULTING’
