Azimio politicians from Kiambu have left Raila Odinga for President William Ruto.
Former MP candidates Joyce Wanjiku Ngugi (Gatundu North MP), David Kariuki Ngare (Thika MP), and Damaris Wambui Waiganjo (Kimba) were among the important figures in attendance at the conference.
President William Ruto has received the endorsement of a number of Jubilee Party officials from Kiambu County.
The leaders formerly affiliated with the Azimio One Kenya Coalition reversed course and vowed to cooperate with the Kenya Kwanza government, led by former Kiambu Governor James Nyoro.
Speaking to the media on Thursday, the leaders promised to work with President Ruto’s team to ensure progress in the county and the entire Mount Kenya area.
The politicians declared they would support President Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua instead of continuing to waste time with the opposition led by Raila Odinga.
In a statement, Nyoro says, “We accept that it is now time to build and improve this country and notably our economy for the benefit of our people.”
This comes after DP Gachagua’s remarks that by end of 2022, the central region will be fully in support of Kenya Kwanza and the William Ruto presidency.
