The ODM party leader Raila Odinga will take at least two weeks to rest before resuming his official duties and politics.
This implies that Raila will not be engaging in any active politics for at least a fortnight as the country prepares for constitutional changes through the BBI.
He also to not resume his official duty as the African Union High Representative for Infrastructure Development until he fully recovers from the minor back injury he underwent in Dubai.
Reports say that the ODM leader held a meeting with a few leaders led by his deputy Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya where he reportedly told them about his 14-day rest
Talking about the matter to Nation, the Kakamega Governor said the former prime minister was having a rest for 21 days as advised by his doctors.
“He is having a rest for 21 days as advised by his doctors, and we didn’t discuss politics, even the BBI, as that was not my agenda. I was there just to visit him after his return from the medical examination,” said Oparanya.
“He dwelt on his surgery so we have to wait for his full recovery to engage him in politics. He has to finish 21 days and nothing will happen until those days are over,” he added.
