The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga on Friday responded to the rogue Gatundu South member of parliament Moses Kuria over his circumcision remarks.
Raila while castigating Moses Kuria told him off on the circumcision issue, reminding him that it is only women who should complain about circumcision as opposed to a man.
The ODM leader made it clear that Moses Kuria is behaving like a silly gay and it is one of the reasons why he has always wanted fellow men to circumcise. As a result, he warned leaders like Moses Kuria to focus on meaningful agenda and desist from mentioning uncircumcised tools.
“Mambo ya tohara wale ambao wanahusika ni kina mama. Wewe mwanaume una haja gani na chombo cha mwanaume mwenzako? Mwanaume ambaye ana haja na mwanaume mwenzake ni shoga. Si yeye ni shoga? Si hao ni shoga? Si hao ni pumbavu hawa? Mimi nasema tuungane pamoja mko tiyari? Loosely translated: “Issues of circumcision should be left to women. As a man why are you so much obsessed with a fellow man’s private part? He is just a silly gay.”
The Gatundu South member of parliament recently shocked Kenyans when he stated that a competent leader must first have his sexual organ chopped like a potato.
Moses Kuria repeated his earlier sentiments on Friday where he stated that Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader is not qualified to lead Kenya since he has evidence that he has not circumcised.
The Gatundu South legislator even made reference to the earlier oath by his tribe where they vowed never to elect a leader who was not circumcised.
“In 1969 when you are under siege you rally 300,000 Kikuyus to take an oath-at a fee- binding them never to elect an uncircumcised person. 50 years later without calling for another oath to undo the first one, you unilaterally make an about turn and expect the whole community to follow you.” He Wrote
“I DO believe that circumcision is the test of leadership and there was every thing right with the 1969 oath and the community Elders should hold a ceremony to unbind the community from that oath and for closure. But this has to be a community issue and we can not trust you to play with the emotions of our community willy-nilly.” Added Moses Kuria.
In the meantime, Moses Kuria’s sentiments of equating leadership with a chopped sexual organ drew mixed reactions as follows:
“Moses Kuria you call an older person than you ( kihii) uncircumcised? The man who paid for your school fees? Do you remember that you travelled all the way to Bondo to beg Raila to take you back to university? Is that how the circumcised behave? Hata kama ni siasa yako ni utoto.”
“Is there a reverse on circumcision. If kuria circumcision is a measure of intelligence and maturity, I’d rather do a reverse and become a kihii.”
“Moses Kuria is back to calling Luos kihii and warning Uhuru he’ll be cursed for supporting a Luo for President. But your favorite Posh Luo won’t say a thing because his kids and my kids are in the same playgroup at Kibanda School.”
“How does Moses Kuria KNOW that Raila is NOT CIRCUMCISED? Why use ANATOMY to degrade the Luo Nation? Only 38% of the world population is circumsized. And the Circumcised KIKUYUS are NOW behaving like UNCIRCUMCISED boys (Kihii) in GATUNDU.”
“It’s 2022 and the only thing Moses Kuria can say against Raila is “kihii”.One wonders whether Kuria wants to take the skin home for family dinner.”
“What is with Moses Kuria and this uncircumcised BS? First of all, has he been in a room with these men he is attacking to confirm that they haven’t been circumcised?
Secondly, assume you are critically ill and you are to be attended to by a top surgeon, would you ask him if he is circumcised to decide whether he is qualified to operate on you or not?
So what does a foreskin got to do with our national discourse at this point? There are millions of uncircumcised men in the world who are making major scientific, innovation and business breakthroughs. Then we have seen even right here others who are very much circumcised, but have very little to show, besides throwing insults on social media and other platforms.
Some statements could have been excused in early 20th century when we were still on the journey to civilization and exposure to the rest of the world was minimal. Cultural interaction was also minimal. But in the 21st Century surely? Aiiii! Hapana!!”
“When the opposing side decides to introduce the politics of the “foreskin” as a tactic to rally Mt. Kenya, it then means that the pro-Raila campaigns in the region are bearing fruits.
It is now clear that the predominant traditional framing of Raila as an enemy of the GEMA community no longer holds as much sway as it did in the previous electoral cycles; the bogeyman strategy is no longer as effective in Mt.Kenya and therefore Moses Kuria and company must clutch at another straw; and in their arsenal of tactics, ethnocentrism is the weapon of choice.
An invocation of the cultural differences between the GEMA and the Luo community, the attempt by Kuria to position his cultural identity as superior to the other based on the practice of circumcision and the effort to try and rally the community around this issue is a desperate move by Tangatanga and proves that indeed Raila is making in-roads in the Mt Kenya region.”
