ODM party leader Raila Odinga criticized those who questioned his presence during Wiper National Delegates Conference.
The conference was held on Thursday at Kasarani and Odinga, OKA principals( Musalia Mudavadi, Moses Wetng’ula, Gideon Moi and Kalonzo Musyoka), Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju, Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu, Senator Johson Sakaja among other political leaders were in attendance.
Speaking during the conference, Raila said he was at the meeting because he had been invited and that because of the good relationship he enjoys with Wiper party leader Kalonzo, he could not miss the event.
“Nimeona wengine wanabweka ni kwa sababu gani Raila amealikwa hapa. Raila na Kalonzo ni mandugu. Kwa hivyo ngugu yangu mdogo ako na harusi na ndio maana nilifika.(I have heard others barking why was Raila invited here. Raila and Kalonzo are brothers. So My younger brother is wedding that’s why I came.)” Odinga said.
According to Odinga, Kalonzo and him share political beliefs and agendas and he is sure that they will work together in future.
“Mimi nina hakika kwa sababu yale ambayo Kalonzo anataka ndio yale ambayo Raila Odinga anataka, Barabara yetu itakutana tena, hapo mbele barabara yetu itakutana tena.(I am certain that what Kalonzo wants is what Raila Odinga wants. Our roads will meet again. Going forward our roads will meet),” said Odinga.
He further said that they have been working together in unity since the late president Daniel Moi’s era to the last general elections.
“We have been with Kalonzo in lots of struggles. We removed them from KANU, we formed Narc together during Kibaki’s time. We came to Orange and Banana, orange defeated banana. So Wiper and ODM are brothers. Their roots are Orange, ODM,” Odinga explained.
Kalonzo was endorsed as Wiper’s flag bearer during the convention and the ODM leader did not hesitate to congratulate him.
“Congratulations! Congratulations! Congratulations Kalonzo Musyoka because today you have been endorsed as the candidate for Wiper party,” Odinga said.
