Nominated member of parliament Sabina Chege has claimed that Azimio could have floored Kenya Kwanza if Raila Odinga had picked her as running mate instead of Martha Karua.
Speaking on Wednesday, December 20, Chege noted that with her she had a better chance of winning the August 2022 Presidential Elections.
“I did not vie because I wanted to fight for the party. Despite us being called names and being told to go sell Baba (Raila) which was very difficult, you saw me in the entire country. At some point, I was named among the potential presidential running mates. I wish they had given me that chance; we would have won,” she said.
At the same time, Chege defended her nomination in parliament insisting that it was rightfully earned.
“I earned this position, it was not a favour given to me. The only way I qualified is because of the elected members of the National Assembly. If it was not for them I would not have gotten this,” she said.
The legislator said that she will continue fighting for Jubilee despite intimidation and court cases.
The Jubilee MP has been facing opposition in parliament that saw her kicked out as Azimio deputy minority whip.
They are in battle with the Jeremiah Kioni faction who claim to be the real owners of Jubilee Party.
