Raila Announces How He Will Reward His Key Allies As Kalonzo Lands Chief Minister Position

ODM leader Raila Odinga has announced, partly, the lineup of Cabinet Secretaries and leaders in his government during the unveiling of his running mate at KICC.

Raila settled on Martha Karua as his preferred deputy in case Azimio la Umoja scoops victory in the August 9 general elections.

He further revealed thay Kalonzo Musyoka will be handed the role of Chief Minister.

“After reviewing the committee’s report I have decided to nominate a core team that will help me form the Azimio government. I have nominated honourable Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka  as the chief cabinet secretary with the responsibility to coordinate and supervise functions of the government Raila said in his speech.

The ODM leader went ahead to announce that former National Assembly speaker Kenneth Marende will be the speaker of the senate.

Kakamega governor Wycliffe Oparanya will be nominated as the Cabinet Secretary for the National treasury while CS Peter Munya will be Agriculture CS as well as chair of the Kenya productive sector.

Mombasa governor Ali Hassan Joho will be the CS for land “to deal with the historical injustices in the coastal region and within the borders of the Republic of Kenya once and for all.”
