While campaigning in Borabu Constituency, Ruto falsely claimed that area MP Ben Momanyi had joined his hustler camp.
The DP mentioned that Momanyi was in his company while he was introducing his entourage to locals in Borabu constituency.
Ruto said the Borabu lawmaker was in his midst and even looked for him when he mentioned his name while addressing residents.
“Nko hapa na Omingo Maraga mpigieni makofi, nko na Josephine ameshaongea… Nko na Ben Momanyi, wapi Ben Momanyi…. asante sana bwana Ben Momanyi,” Ruto said.
Video of Ruto introducing Ben Momanyi as having decamped to his hustler team went viral on social media attracting the attention of the Borabu MP.
Ben Momanyi strongly denied that he was with Ruto during his tour of Nyamira. The Borabu MP stated that the DP could be referring to another ‘Ben Momanyi’ because he was nowhere near Nyamira on Monday.
“This clip has been brought into my attention. I am not anywhere near Nyamira County. DP Ruto must have been referring to someone else. However, thank my team for showing discipline and maturity in Chepilat and Kijauri [Borabu]. We appeal for tolerance in our national politics,” Ben Momanyi captioned a video where Ruto claimed he had joined his camp.
