“We found love in a hopeless place!”
President William Ruto’s Economic Advisor David Ndii can easily utter those words after sharing beautiful photos showing his marriage transformation.
His marriage to Mwende Gatabaki was clearly not all flowery from the beginning.
According to the photos shared by the Economist, they started from the bottom taking trips to Githurai as they continued amassing wealth.
They stated in that low cadre status close to 15 years before they travelled to Italy and then made it to the US all in the name of love.
Despite everything looking fun and exclusive, Ndii once warned Gatabaki that taking a bribe could lead to marriage termination.
“My wife was offered “assistance” to purchase a car if she bought a particular make (she was procuring about 40 4WDs for her organisation). I assured her accepting the bribe was grounds for divorce. I don’t preach what I practice,” David Ndii said.
In the 2022 General Election, Gatabaki unsuccessfully contested for the Kiambu Gubernatorial seat.
