Kenyan film industry is mourning after the death of veteran actor Pete Openda. Sonkonews.com gathered Openda was pronounced dead on the early morning of Saturday, June 6.
Sadly, the deceased turned one year older on June 2, four days before his passing on. It was not immediately clear whether the late had been sick or not. The cause of his death was not disclosed.
“It’s so sad that he died days after celebrating his birthday on June 2.We have lost a great actor. Personally, I have worked with him in different TV productions.
Who can forget his voice, diction and those facial expressions when he was acting. We have truly lost a great actor. May his soul rest in peace,” eulogised Sammy Karey Waweru.
Apart from acting and directing a number of plays, Openda was at point in his career a radio presenter at Kenya Broadcasting Services (KBC) where he hosted jazz hour show. Openda is a graduate of Oxford University – Said Business School and Durham University Business School where he attained bachelor and masters degree in business administration.
