There was a stand off at Gusii stadium on Monday after a contingent of GSU officers were deployed to raid the stadium, including governor Simba Arati’s office.
It is not clear why the officers surrounded the governor’s office but authorities said that they were deployed in the county in a bid to crack down rogue boda boda riders.
It is also reported that the governor was not denied access to the premises as well as other staff members.
Arati has however termed the move as an attempt to intimidate him.
“I heard that money is being collected around to dish Sh500,000 each to the MCAs to impeach me… Pray for me…. I have seen dark ominous clouds gathering. This war is going to be long,” the governor said while addressing the press.

He further called upon the government to stop misusing the officers, adding that he will stay firm.
“Stop misusing our GSU officers to intimidate me. I will not run away from my county. Corruption cartels have ganged up to fight me,” Arati said.
The raid comes just hours after he revealed that there was a plot to raid his Motonto residence at night in a bid to fix him in a crime
“Don’t come to my residence at night, come in the daytime, I don’t want you to come and plant guns in my house so that you can begin incriminating me,” Arati said on Sunday.
