Raila Odinga is successfully climbing the mountain as evident by the events of Sunday and Monday when he traversed different counties in Central.
The former Prime minister was hosted by several mount Kenya politicians including the governors Nderitu Mureithi (Nyandarua), Dr. James Nyoro (Kiambu), Lee Kinyanjui (Nakuru) and several lawmakers like Kanini Kega and Sabina Chege.
Raila pulled mammoth crowds during his visit to the surprise of many people who all along have been made to believe he wouldn’t be welcomed in the region.
While addressing residents in Kenol, Murang’a county residents, Raila addressed the increased fuel prices promising residents that the issue will be looked upon and a positive response given within a span of 7 days.
Raila told residents that Homa Bay Women Representative Gladys Wanga is working on the issue of the seemingly unaffordable prices of fuels and if possible, they will be reduced as soon as possible. This excited residents and pushed them to join in dancing and chanting Raila’s name, Baba.

Raila also shocked many people when he pulled a huge crowd in Karatina town which lies in Mathira constituency where his rival William Ruto is thought to enjoy strong support.
Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu who took to Facebook to troll Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua after Raila attracted thousands to his rally.
“This is Karatina Town. It’s in Mathira Constituency. The area Mp here is Hon #RigathiGachagua. The last time Deputy President Ruto was in Kieni he could not even stop here. What you do with this information, is up to you,” wrote Wambugu.
Still in Mathira, a woman attracted attention when she was seen on camera chanting the former Prime Minister’s name while stressing that Mt Kenya region is Raila’s second backyard after Nyanza, and they will do anything to support him in 2022.
“Welcome Here in Mathira Baba, we are proud of you and pledge our support. If you order us to elect you, hit the roads with stones to demonstrate or even destroy railway we will, because we follow your orders.” She said.
Around her was some male friends who joined her in the chants, while cheering up and attracting huge crowds.

In Chaka, Nyeri County thousands stopped Raila’s convoy and demanded that the former Prime Minister address them.
Shortly after his motorcade stopped, a young supporter showed his love for Raila when he gifted him with a nice pair of shoes. The young man could not hide his admiration for the ODM leader saying is the only hope for Kenyan business community.
Raila said he would like to see the private sector empowered to make Kenya a trading nation. He also pledged to help Kenyan companies to secure international contracts.
While on his way back to his Karen residence Nairobi, Raila’s convoy was temporarily blocked by elated residents of Juja town, Kiambu county.
Residents demanded to be addressed by Raila, before they allowed him to proceed with his journey. Chants of “Baba, Baba, Baba” filled the air.

Raila’s tour in mount Kenya region has also sparked mixed reactions, making his diehard supporters allude that the Arabs have already started eating pork.
Critics had said that mount Kenya is like Saudi Arabia and selling pork there won’t be easy while referring that Raila is unsalable in the mountain region.
With Raila pulling thousands to his rallies in mount Kenya region, his allies are now saying “pork is being sold in mosques”.
Meanwhile allies of the deputy president William Samoei Ruto have been on a video editing mode as Raila successfully climbs the mountain.
