In a heartbreaking and inhumane way, Edwin Chiloba was killed and stuffed in a box.
Police have identified the Kenyan whose lifeless body was discovered packed inside a metallic box in Uasin Gishu County as that of LGBTQ activist and fashion designer, Edwin Chiloba.
Riders on bodabodas observed a car with a hidden registration number dump the package down the road and called the police.
When the police received the box, they discovered a man’s decomposing body dressed in women’s clothing. His remains were taken to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital for a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of demise.
Mr Chiloba, was well-known in the streets of Eldoret, and he frequently dressed in women’s clothing and posted images on his personal social media pages.
His most recent post, on December 29th, 2022, stated that he planned to accomplish several goals in 2023, including establishing his fashion line and partnering with prominent companies.
According to Nairobi News, Mr Chiloba was attacked four months ago by unknown perpetrators, but he escaped.
People opposed to his LGBTQ way of life attacked him and beat him up. According to photographs seen by Nairobi News, he sustained injuries, including a major cut on his lips, and blood was trickling down from the upper half of his face. His outfits were ripped, and he had bruises and scratches all across his face.
