A cop in Turkana County has been arrested for shooting to death his sister over a Sh 550 alcohol debt.
Police reports indicate that the fight between the siblings started at Kainuk market where the sister, a secondary school teacher, runs a bar.
The sister Susan Nasiru Emuru, is said to have demanded that the cop, Wilfred Kibichiy Too, clears his bar bill, a situation that resulted in a physical confrontation.
“The officer was hit on the head with a stone and started bleeding. He ran back to the police post and returned armed with a G3 rifle, went to his sister’s house and shot her three times,” the police report read in part.
Wounded and backed, the police officer went back to Kainuk Police Station where he took his gun, went to his sister’s house, and shot her multiple times.
The 34-year-old teacher died on spot, according to the police report.

The police later disarmed and arrested the suspect detaining him at Lodwar Police Station.
The victim’s body was later taken to the Lodwar Referral Hospital mortuary.
The incident happened yesterday, Tuesday, January 12.
