Fake policeman and imposter James Obwangi Nyakundi has been arrested.
Mr. Nyakundi, 33, pretended to be an OC Crime Detective from the Kasarani Police station.
He was taken into custody in Kasarani, Nairobi for posing as a detective and demanding money from unsuspecting local businesses.
Bar owners and owners of wine and liquor businesses are alleged to represent the majority of his victims.
While confirming the incident, Kasarani Sub County Police Commander Anthony Mbogo said they are looking into Nyakundi who was caught in the act and added that there have been too many documented complaints of the same.
Nyakundi is being held by police pending arraignment.
In Narok County police arrested imposter KRA officials collecting bribes this week as well. Police have asked Kenyans to be extra vigilant during this festive season.
