“Pay Us First”- Kenyans To DCI On The 60M Reward For 3 Terrorists Who Escaped Kamiti

Date:

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has offered a 60 million Kenya shilling reward for anyone that will issue information on three terror suspects that escaped Kamiti Maximum Prison.

Through a statement shared on Monday, the criminal detectives confirmed that the three terror suspects escaped Kamiti Prison past midnight at around 1 am.

“A reward of Ksh 60 million will be offered to anyone with information that may lead to the arrest of the following three terror suspects, who escaped from Kamiti Maximum Security Prison today at 1 am,”  read part of the police statement.

The three suspects who escaped Kamiti Maximum prison include Musharaf Abdalla Akhulunga aka Zarkawi aka Alex aka Shukri who was in 2012 accused of planning to attack Kenyan parliament. The man was charged with possession of explosives, ammunition and firearms. The man is from the Ekero area in  Mumias within the county of Kakamega. The reward on his head is 20 million Kenya shillings.

The second suspect is Mohamed Ali Abikar who was arrested following his participation in the Garissa University attack that occurred on 2nd April 2015. Apparently, Abikar is armed to the teeth and very dangerous according to the National Police Service.

The third suspect is Joseph Juma Odhiambo aka Yusuf who was arrested  on 21st November 2019 in Bulla Hawa, Somalia while attempting to enlist with the Alshabaab terror group. He hails from Lukoye area, in Mumias within Kakamega county. Joseph is equally armed and dangerous according to the National Police Service. A reward of 20 million cash price is on his head too.

However, Kenyans doubted whether the National Police Service would actually honor their promise and issue the 60 million reward. Below is how Kenyans reacted:

“Kwanza twambie kaa KRA hawataka kitu kwa hii pesa. Can’t risk my life kufuata mtu alikua anataka kubomb parliament then kra wachukue 90% of the money”

“Huwezi pewa hizo pesa ata ukiwa na information, watakugeuzia ushangae.”

“Ukiwaona hao badala upate 20m ureport unakuwa accomplice to terrorism!Hii ni Kenya.”

“I always want to ask, hizi bounty watu hulipwa or has it happened anywhere in the world.”

“Zile sinema mko nazo ni mingi..have you are the officer in charge kamiti prison? Ama its was state sponsored abduction? It’s high time correction services be under judiciary..”

“Washa shughuliliwa hao, non existent now, juu pia 60million is unrealistic.”

“Nikama ndengu washateremshiwa na chapo so this stinks of a cover up. How did they escape from Kamiti and who aided them? Their families better make peace because these chaps will never been seen or heard of again.”

“Mmecollect pesa za watu hawana mask adi mkona 60 million imelala mahali.”

“It’s really sad that wananchi are so jaded about our country to the extent of not trusting getting a reward. Paying informants is one way of keeping the country safe & is done all over the world.”

“This is how you still money? Let someone break out, catch him and reward yourself 60M so that it looks ? legit transaction. Stop this nonsense. Ati 60M… Wah??? Corruption ? percent.”

“They can give everyone in public a down payment. Whoever finds them first gets the money.”
