Pastor Victor Kanyari emotionally narrated the events that led to the death of his younger sister Starlet Wahu.
During the Sunday service at his church, Kanyari told his faithfuls that Wahu was stabbed thrice.
“It is true my sister was stabbed about thrice, my only sister who has lived in America all her life. She however studied in college here before she met her death on Thursday early morning. A very pretty and blessed girl,” the preacher said.
He admitted that Wahu met with her murderer, John Matara, on social media and they started dating.
According to him, Matara convinced her that he is wealthy.
“When they began dating, the man invited her out for drinks and a meal, he told her that he was very rich. Nowadays girls love rich men, so when she saw he is rich and she is a socialite, they went to a certain club, they then rented a house later for the night.”
Kanyari added that his sister was not willing to sleep with Matara before knowing his HIV status.
“They bought the testing kit and had alcohol, they then went to the Airbnb, little did she know that the man is a serial killer. She didn’t know, she saw someone who loves her and I don’t see her mistake, she is not married and she was looking for a man to date, she moved in with him,” Kanyari said.
He added that Wahu tried to call him in the middle of the night, precisely at 2am, but he didn’t pick the call on the fateful Thursday. Kanyari said that Matara began threatening her at 3am while demanding her for Kshs500,000.
He suspects that Wahu was reluctant to comply with the man’s demand and that is when he began stabbing her, asking her to send him all the man she had and also call her relatives to send him money.
“My sister was tough-headed and they began fighting, he stabbed her on the neck and leg. While they were fighting, the man left and locked with the house living with the key.
Kanyari says that his sister died while attempting to reach the door and call for help. He went on to explain why they buried her 2 days after the gruesome murder.
“I told my family so that we bury her quickly, I didn’t want the media to disturb me. I told my mum that she is dead and won’t resurrect. By Friday we had everything ready and on Saturday at 8.am we buried her, we were only 20 people,” he said.
He also revealed that he reversed any contributions that was send to him since he solely wanted to send off his beloved sibling.
