On Thursday at 3pm, President William Ruto announced that he had done away with his entire cabinet, sparing only Prime CS Musalia Mudavadi.
In his briefing, Ruto said that he had keenly listened to what Kenyans were saying, hence the decision.
Some of the Cabinet Secretaries lost their jobs even though they had won elective seats, and resigned to joined the Executive.
The cabinet secretaries have however taken the dismissal positively, extending their gratitude to the president for giving them an opportunity to serve.
Alice Wahome, who was in the ministry of Lands , Public works , Housing and Urban Development and previously as a Cabinet Secretary Water , Sanitation and Irrigation, said that she would continue supporting the president
“During my period of service you gave me Lands , Public works , Housing and Urban Development and previously as a Cabinet Secretary Water , Sanitation and Irrigation. support in the execution of my duties and i will forever remain grateful. You can count on my continued support especially during this time when our Nation requires all hands and energies pulling together to build a stronger and resilient kenya,” she said in her statement.
Her Defence counterpart, Aden Duale, on the other hand said, “I extend my heartfelt gratitude to His Excellency President@WilliamsRutofor entrusting me with the role of Cabinet Secretary for Defence in the first Kenya Kwanza Administration. I am deeply honored and will forever be indebted to him and the people of Kenya for this opportunity to serve our great nation. As the Quran says, “But they plan, and Allah plans. And Allah is the best of planners.”
Kipchumba Murkomen, now former CS of Transport, thanked Ruto for the opportunity to serve in the ministry, pronouncing blessings upon the head of state as well as the country.
Former Agriculture CS Mithika Linturi said it was a privilege for him to serve in the ministry.
