President William Ruto has explained why Azimio has been opposing the affordable housing project.
Speaking in Naivasha on Friday, Ruto claimed that the opposition is not against the project, but oppose it in public because they have an audience to address.
“Koffi Anan, one time, when we were having this big story in 2008, he once told us when you see someone talking, don’t assuming he is talking to you. Maybe he is talking to some other people who are not even present there.
“Sometimes even these statements we see from our competitors against housing, it is not that they are are against house. It is just that they have an audience there they have to tell something but inside people believe this is the right thing to do,” Ruto said.
He urged the Members of Parliament to pass the housing bill that on aspects that were approved by the court, so that youths can get jobs.
“I want to tell the Members of Parliament that they should pass the Housing Bill, the one the court asked us to pass. By Tuesday, we are supposed to have finished so that the unemployed youths get jobs. The MPs should pass the Housing Bill early in the morning and they should not ask questions,” he spoke on Friday.
