Oscar Sudi is sinking deeper in the academic fraud charge against him after his primary school teacher told the court that he is not aware where he went to after studying two years at Tulwopng’etuny Primary School in Uasin Gishu County.
Simon Cherop, who told the court that he taught Sudi Mathematics in class six and seven, revealed that the lawmaker did not finish his studies at the School which he joined in 1995.
“Yes. I taught him Maths in classes 6 and 7,” Cherop said following a question that had been posed by the prosecutor.
He however noted that Sudi actively participated in games. The teacher also told the court that he does not know whether the MP cleared his primary school education elsewhere or if he joined a secondary school.
At the time of the hearing, Sudi was not present. The magistrate allowed the hearing to continue in his absence after his lawyers informed the court that he was part of the team organizing William Ruto’s swearing in ceremony scheduled for Tuesday next week.
Roots party leader George Wajackoya is among those representing him in the case.
The Kapseret MP is facing charges of forging academic documents including a Diploma Certificate in Business Management from the Kenya Institute of Management (KIM) and a KCSE certificate from Highway Highschool in Nairobi.
Aside from that, he is also charged with presenting false documents, false declaration and misleading the public contrary to the leadership and integrity act.
The recent development comes just months after a former Highway Highschool principal told the court that he did not sit for KSCE in the school.
The case will be heard on November 22, with the court demanding that the remaining two witnesses must testify in the presence of Sudi.
