President William Ruto did not perform impressively in the year 2023.
According to a study by Infotrak Research Consulting, Ruto’s performance has been ranked D which is equivalent to 47%.
In Rift Valley, Ruto’s performance was ranked 50%, In Western Kenya 49%, Nairobi and Central 48%.
He further received 46%, 44%, 43% and 41% in Eastern, Coast, North Eastern and Nyanza respectively.
While Ruto earned 47%, his cabinet scored 43% which is equally a D as well as government institutions.
The Deputy President, Rigathi Gachagua, on the other hand scored an E(36%). The second in command scored highest in Rift valley with 40% while he earned lowest in North Eastern garnering 34%.
The opposition, that is led by Raila Odinga, settled for a D(48%) in their performance, a percentage higher than the head of state.
County governments and the judiciary scored 47% while police and county assemblies scored 45%.
“The results are however not encouraging. Across the board the sentiments lean towards disapproval,” the Infotrak report stated.
“The writing is on the wall for all leaders entrusted with shaping the nation’s furure. As we step in 2024, the one hope is for significant improvement,” the report further stated.
The survey was conducted on 1,500 respondents.
