Burial preparations are underway at Itumbe location in Kisii county for the five Bundi family members who died in a road accident along Mombasa road.
Ronald Bundi, his wife Veronica Bundi, Marion Bundi, Natalia Bundi and Claire Bundi perished in a road accident on December 25, 2021, at Engwata area in Mackinnon, near Voi.
A source familiar with the unfortunate accident reported as below:
“This is a very painful obituary posting where almost an entire family perished in one accident.
As the world marked Christmas, Ronald, a man well known in Diani as a contractor, was also driving home to Kisii. You must have seen on various social media forums and in the news about the accident where a family had perished at Engwata.
While he was in his lane some mad BMW driver decides to come into his lane and crashed head on while the BMW burst into flames burning the occupant beyond recognition it left an entire family dead save for their two young boys who are currently in hospital who will now grow up without their loving parents.
Late Ronald like many of us found new life at the Kenya coast and he made his mark in construction as a man who walked the narrow path of integrity. Hard work and commitment were his middle and surnames. Many homes in Diani and even Mombasa would have the footprint of Ronald.
As schools reopen the desks of those little girls will be empty and their young friends not knowing what really happened, painful indeed.

In the meantime, Kenyans had the following to say following the accident:
“I feel sorry for the Bundi family, it’s sad. But again, this does not even scare a Kenyan driver. They will just do it again on our roads. For sure why don’t we just learn? Lets be careful on our roads please.”
