Orange Democratic Movement, ODM, has broken silence after a letter emerged online, indicating the party was exiting Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance.
In the letter that was addressed to the registrar of political parties Anne Nderitu and believed to be from the party’s secretary general Edwin Sifuna, the author said that ODM wanted to ditch Azimio over reasons such as distrust and betrayal from fellow coalition members.
The letter even bore a stamp that read the office of the registrar of political parties, indicating that it was received on December 13, 2023.
In ODM’s official twitter account, the party however flagged the letter as fake.
“Only Fake minds, fake things,” the party said.

The fogged letter however came at a time when Azimio’s unity seem to be threatened, with the most recent case being the members’ stand on the report by the National Dialogue Committee.
Narc Kenya Party leader Martha Karua rejected the report as it failed to address key concerns such as the high cost of living but ODM endorsed the report.
Raila Odinga’s aide Makau Mutua also openly told off Karua and Jubilee Secretary general Jeremiah Kioni.
“I will take my brother Jeremiah Kioni seriously when he and his Kamwene siblings organise Maandamano in the Mountain,” Matua stated.
Kamwene is a union that was formed by Karua and Kioni to champion the interests of Mt. Kenya.
