Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Amollo Odinga has left Kenyans talking after sharing his photo while reading the bible in church on Facebook.
Raila was attending a Sunday church service at an ACK church Butere, Kakamega County when he decided to read the bible for the congregants.
Odinga attended the service where by Bishop Rose Okeno was being inaugurated to be the head of the diocese.
His supporters said that was that was a sign that he believes in God opposite of what his political opponents say.
“Baba even the angels in heaven are happy to receive you as their son they are now busy preparing for your inauguration. Baba the 5th president,” one of his followers wrote.
Another one accused Deputy President William Ruto of calling Raila a witch doctor saying that it was time for him to know that he was a reverend instead.
However, some went ahead to bash him claiming that the leader was just pretending.
“Dont Joke or Undermine William Samoei Ruto,” a follower wrote.
Another one said that, “Vumilia baba. It’s only for 11 months halafu urudi kwa maisha yako ya kawaida.”
“We know how those who are friends with the Bible hold it. Meanwhile God is happy in heaven. There is an evangelist who has changed the narrative. Everyone is now rushing to church,” read another comment.
DP Ruto has always called Odinga a witchdoctor whenever he attacked him saying that he was a politician who never liked the church.
Odinga however wanted Ruto to stop referring to him as a witch doctor saying that he was a Christian.
“Iam a Christian, those who refer to me as a person of riddles and witch doctor should stop. A witch doctor is a person who treats people. Even though I have no problem being called that I prefer to be known as a true Christian,” Raila said.
