ODM Issues Demands After Okiya Omtatah Home Attack Incident

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has condemned the alleged attack on Busia Senator Okiya Omtatah’s home.

In a statement, ODM has demanded for the protection of the lawmaker who has been at the forefront in defending the rights of Kenyans and opposing contentious Bills sponsored by the Kenya Kwanza administration led by the Affordable Housing Programme.

ODM asked the security agencies to quickly investigate the case and apprehend the perpetrators.

“We condemn in the strongest terms possible the continued harassment of the Senator of Busia Okiya Omtatah, the latest being the raid on his rural home by unknown people who were demanding to know his whereabouts,” ODM wrote.

“Every Kenyan including leaders must be guaranteed their safety at all times. We call on the government to move quickly and investigate the claims.”

According to reports, armed men raided his house demanding to know his whereabouts. In the process, one person was allegedly hurt.

Bu the time of this publication, the National Police Service had not issued a statement concerning the incident.
