Raila’s Brother Oburu Odinga is regretting the day he was born a day after launching his Siaya senatorial bid at his home in Bondo.
Apart from Oburu Odinga, other aspirants from the Oginga family who are eyeing National seats are Raila Odinga for presidency, Ruth Odinga for the Kisumu woman representative, Dr. Oginga’s son Mr. Elijah Oburu for Kisumu parliamentary seat, Raila’s half brother Mr. Issac Omondi Odinga for the Milimani market ward, and Jaoko Oburu for the Lang’ata parliamentary seat.
However, the decision by Oburu Odinga to contest the Siaya seat did not go well with most residents who had the following to say:
“Wach oburu no pod omako dhoga .Oburu has put his stomach ahead of his brother’s ambition to transform this Nation. Oburu must step down or else we face him independently at the ballot come August 9th 2022. Oburu wants his brother to fail when he starts this behavior of selfish politics.”
“Luo nation is focused on the presidency of His Brother, bringing confusion because of his selfish interest that is a big no. We will not allow and we shall not allow. # Oburukodingamustdrophisselfishambitionwithimmediateeffect.”
“You are too old now, kindly give space for others to grow politically. What haven’t you done to Siaya people for the last 3 decades which you want to do now? We are only focused on Raila’s presidency.”
“Siaya youths Don’t elect Oburu. Its said youths are leaders of tomorrow but for our case our tomorrow is never coming. As August approaches I am informed that the 90yrs old Oburu Odinga today launched his bid to be siaya senator, its good but this a bad dream. What has Oburu Odinga not achieved in his 80s that he intend to achieve now? I will not be too petty to drag Odinga family in this, I ask Siaya voters to seal Oburus fate on the ballot.. Oburu should rest. AUGUS.”

“Hi! Am not a siaya voter but I must support my fellow youth for that seat. We need fresh blood in politics on our current Kenya. Dynasty families ikae kama pilipili kwa umbaali kwa mboga.”
“How will youth unemployment be solved in our great county siaya if you can’t grom young leaders who are aspiring for the Senate?”
“If you were picked by your brother to represent the youth in EALA, the same has come and imposed you on the people of Siaya as their Senator. I am not surprised… Meanwhile, the Oginga Odinga dynasty must end in Luo Nyanza.”
“ Let Oburu Odinga, with all due respect learn from the Kenyatta family..When Uhuru is contesting, you won’t meet a Kenyatta on the street fighting for a political seat… They become busy fighting for their brother because they understand the value of the Presidency.”
“Why would Oburu Odinga vie for Senate at his age while his brother is poised to be the Kenyan President?”
“I just don’t understand how aspirants would endorse another aspirant! Are you saying that there will be no nominations by party members because all the elected leaders and other aspirants have endorsed you?”
“It’s upon the Siaya people to end this madness. After Rasanga’s disaster then comes Oburu and Orengo?”
“Oburu Ondinga just retire from politics and keep yourself busy with charitable projects to Siaya people.You should give upcoming Siaya leaders space to grow .Kama Raila itakua President wewe inaweza kuwa chairman wa Kenya Power??”
