Former American President Barrack Obama has sold over 1.7 million copies of his book; “A Promised Land,” breaking the record of Penguin Random House Publishers.

A Promised Land was released on 7th of November and within a week, 1,710,443 units had been sold. To date, the book has been written in 20 different languages, and is the number one most selling memoir in the United Kingdom.
Just a brief overview of A promised land, Obama describes the story of a young man who is on a mission to trace his identity before becoming the leader of the world superpower. He also narrates about his personal life including his education and the first term in office, which was marked by dramatic transformation and turmoil.
Obama’s book, “A Promised land” is the first volume amongst the two series with the date for releasing the second volume yet to be disclosed.
Despite Obama’s memoir getting positive sale, his wife Michelle Obama’s book; “Becoming,” made a history by surpassing the 10 million mark sold in 2019. The book was published in 2008.
Surprised by the high sale for Michelle, the CEO of Penguin Random House Mr. Markus Dohle said that in his personal experience, he was not aware of any day that the company sold such a high number of books.
