The National Olympics Committee- Kenya has denied claims that a group of Kenyan athletes who came back from France on Tuesday were left stranded at the airport without means of transport.
It was alleged that the affected athletes included the Women’s national volleyball team Malkia , who were forced to camp at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for more than four hours.
There were also videos of the affected athletes shared on social media, with Kenyans demanding for answers.

In a statement, Nock noted that thr group arrived safely and were provided with transport and accomodation as required. Many of the athletes however opted for private means.
“The 8th group, including our swimming team and Malkia Strikers, arrived safely in Kenya last night. As with all other arriving teams, they were welcomed by Ministry of Sports, and transport and accommodation were provided for all #TeamKenya athletes,” Nock said.
“Many athletes choose to visit their loved ones after weeks of training and competition, which is entirely their choice.”
Nock further said that it is committed to ensuring the well being of athletes as the Paris Olympics come to an end.
“With 4 days remaining at the Paris Olympics, we continue to ensure that athletes arrive and depart safely and receive the utmost care from the government,” Nock said.
