Peter Njogu, a peaceful protester has been arrested in Eldoret while protesting along Zion Mall Road.
Armed with a Kenyan flag, a whistle and his phone, Njogu doesn’t understand why the officer accosted him.
Videos shared online showed Njogu negotiating with the police officer who arrested him.
“Niko na amani yangu, sina shida, bendera yangu na firimbi, kuna kitu ingine niko nayo?” He asked the police who told him that he is not aware of the fact.
“Amani amani amani, wezi wakikuja kuiba tunawashika tunawaletea,” Njogu went on.
Speaking to journalists, Njogu said that he wa accused of trying to overthrow the government.
“Naitwa Peter Njogu, nimeshikwa pale. Nilikuwa nimenunua bendera yangu na firimbi. Huyo kwanza ameniambia nabadilisha serikali, aje sasa? Natetea nchi yangu, sina maneno mengi.
He added that he was yet to be told what his offence was.
“Wameniambia niingie hapa kuna maswali fulani waniulize, sijui kama wataniachulia, ndio nangoja,” he said.

The anti-government protests have resumed in various parts of the country this Tuesday.
In Kakamega, peaceful protestors descended on a man believed to be a goon and successfully managed to disarm him.
