Anne Adhiambo has admitted to have murdered Eric Maigo, who was the Finance Director of Nairobi Hospital.
The suspect pleaded guilty before High Court Judge Kaanyi Kimondo.
The charges were read to her thrice in Swahili and responding to them she repeatedly said, “Ni ukweli.”
The court informed her of the of the consequences that might befall her as she enters plea and gave also her time to consult with her lawyers.
“Nakupa muda zaidi Ndio uweze kuongea na wakili wako ambaye Yuko mahakamani mzungumze wakuelezee vizuri kile unachoambia mahakama,” the judge said.
The court was also informed that the suspect is of age and sound mind.
The matter has now been forwarded to the Kibra Law Courts where she would take her plea again.
Maigo was murdered in Mid September at his residence in Woodley Estate, Nairobi. Investigations revealed that he was stabbed 25 times.
Later CCTV footage emerged showing the suspect attempting to jump over a wall, nearby Maigo’s residence.
After playing hide and seek with detectives, she was arrested in late September at a friend’s house in Bombululu, Kibra.
At the time, it was believed that she was a teenager age between 17-18 years but an age and mental assessment that was conducted on her at Mathari Hospital revealed that she was an adult.
In the meantime, she will be held at the Lang’ata women’s prison. The case will be mentioned on November 8.
