President Uhuru Kenyatta has rubbished claims that the ruling party, Jubilee, is dead during the party’s National Delegates Conference.
The NDC was held at KICC, Nairobi on Saturday February 26, whereby the head of state said all these time, the party has been working silently.
“Indeed very early in my second term I did make it clear to the Kenyan people that mine was a choice of leadership over politics. That we chose to work over noise and because we were silent as went about our work, some thought that our party had died,” President Kenyatta
President Kenyatta wondered how a party that was dead would be able to achieve what they had achieved so far.
“I would like to ask Kenyans, They are telling us Jubilee is dead, Jubilee was given a mandate by Kenyan citizens to lead. As a party, we have constructed over 12,000 km[of road] . Is that a party that is dead or working?
“They told us that our party was dead and we are just waiting for the burial day. Which dead party has grown the country’s economy(GDP) from Kshs 5 trillion to Kshs 11 trillion? Which dead party is that?” president Kenyatta posed.
He added that by the time he will be handing over power to the next leadership, the economy would have grown to over Kshs13 trillion.
He further said that they had been able to bring Kenya to the top 10 richest countries in the African continent.
“Which dead party in a coffin made Kenya the 6th most richest country in Africa from the 12th most richest and we don’t have minerals, oil, gas and all that but Kenyans hard work, leaders with great thoughts and peace in our nation,” Kenyatta said
The president said Jubilee was silent and calm so that they would carry out responsibilities that had been bestowed upon them.
“Those who thought that working is being weak because they were all over TVs with noise. We have achieved our work and if you thought our mouths were shut know that being calm is not being afraid,” Kenyatta noted.
