Nation Media Group Offices Brought Down By Strong Winds

Several Nation media group staff were injured after strong winds brought down the media house’s offices in Kisumu.

The number of employees of employees injured in the Tuesday 0ctober 5 incident remains unclear.

The news was shared by NTV’s sports journalist Seth Olale on his official twitter account.

“Strong winds wreck NMG Kisumu bureau,” Olale wrote on twitter accompanied by photos showing the extend of damage that the winds had caused.

In one of the photos, a woman is seen lying on the floor but no details were provided about her identity.

According to an NMG staff who sought anonymity preliminary investigations to establish the magnitude of the damage are ongoing, and the media house will make an official statement.

“Once we get the full information on the incident, we shall let the public know,” the staff said.

In separate incident, a fire broke out a rental house in Matakari area of Dallas estate, Embu town following a gas explosion.

Several people were left trapped inside the building but the Embu fire brigade arrived in time for the rescue mission. No casualties were reported.

Fire cases in the area have been on the rise with locals crying foul of faulty gas cylinders.

According to the area MCA Morris Nyaga who  responded to the locals distress call, property worth Kshs2 million was destroyed during the fire incident.

“I want to thank Dallas residents for their quick response when this fire started, they have been able to work together with fire extinguishers and the fire was contained,” Nyaga said.
