Ugandan president Yoweri Museveni has revealed that Embakasi East MP Babu Owino is among those who were involved with inciting anti-government protests.
This is according to intelligence report he received.
Museveni however noted that it was only individuals in Raila’s camp that were involved and not Raila himself.
“There are some individuals in Raila’s group who I think don’t know what they are doing. I am a consumer of intelligence services, I always receive intelligence service reports. There is a character called Babu, I always receive reports of Babu dealing with anti-NRM groups in Uganda. I have never accused him but now I am accusing him.
“But those are individuals, they are not Raila group because I know Raila the nationalist and pan Africanist,” he said during the official launch of Raila’s African Union chairmanship bid at the Statehouse
Babu is a vocal supporter of Uganda’s opposition leader Robert Kyagulanyi.
