Musalia Mudavadi has revisited the murder of Independent Electoral Boundary Commission (IEBC) ICT manager Chris Msando ahead of the 2022 general election.
Speaking in Nairobi while presiding over the launch of Amani National Congress (ANC) party digital platforms, Mudavadi stressed that electoral flaws of 2017 shouldn’t be repeated in 2022.
The ANC leader called on IEBC chairperson Wafula Chebukati and other commissioners to desist from electoral illegalities that might deny Kenyans their sovereign will of electing their preferred candidate in 2022 presidential race.
“As ANC party, we want to urge IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati and his allied commissioner to exercise high index of transparency, free and fair elections. That is the message we want to put across the nation. In fact as a party, we are also obliged in ensuring that the electoral decency is highly preserved,” Mudavadi said.
The ANC leader further reflected on the dead of IEBC ICT manager Chris Msando who was brutally murdered days to the election date.
“We all know what happened to the late Chris Msando few months to general election. We don’t want the IEBC to lead us into such direction again, where commissioners are murdered few months to general election,” Mudavadi insisted.
The late Msando was murdered for allegedly trying to stop powerful individuals from infiltrating IEBC servers to manipulate figures in favor of President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Defunct NASA political coalition claimed figures were cooked after Msando’s murder to ensure Uhuru wins a second term in office.
Supreme Court nullified Uhuru’s victory and ordered for a repeat presidential election which NASA boycotted saying that IEBC servers were still infiltrated and the results would be the same.
