“40,000 is a drop in the ocean, I earn 1,000,000 so tell him nikitoka Nigeria I will come to the office or he can visit my office in Mumias East, he get paid,” MP Salasya tweeted.
In a shocking revelation via a direct message (DM) to activist Boniface Mwangi, Polycarp Nyonje from Kakamega has come forward with unsettling claims against Mumias East Constituency Member of Parliament, Hon. Peter Salasya.
The story started in 2017 when Hon. Peter Salasya, then employed at Diamond Trust Bank in Kakamega Branch, took out a Sacco loan totaling Ksh 165,000. Mr. Nyonje, along with two other members, stood as guarantors for Salasya’s loan. What transpired next would be a tale of broken promises and financial distress.
Soon after securing the loan, Hon. Salasya defaulted on his repayments. Despite several face-to-face meetings and phone conversations, the MP consistently assured Mr. Nyonje and his co-guarantors that he would settle the debt. These promises of repayment persisted even as Hon. Salasya embarked on his political journey and ultimately became a Member of Parliament.
Frustrated by the lack of progress in recovering their hard-earned savings, Mr. Nyonje sought assistance from the National Assembly and the office of the Ombudsman, Kenya. Unfortunately, these avenues yielded no assistance or resolution to their predicament.
The Ksh 40,821 deducted from their savings for the loan repayment had already taken a toll on their financial stability.
Despite relentless attempts to reach out to Hon. Peter Salasya through various social media platforms, he remained unresponsive to Mr. Nyonje’s calls and messages.
In a further effort to resolve the matter, Mr. Nyonje approached Hon. Salasya’s political party, DAP-Kenya Party, only to be met with another dead end, no help found.
“I’m Polycarp Nyonje from Kakamega and l want to expose Mumias East Constituency MP, Hon. Peter Salasya.
