MP Peter Salasya Viciously Slaps Person at Funeral

Mumias East Member of Parliament Peter Salasya has yet again been caught in a physical confrontation.

The incident happened on Friday, January 12 when the lawmaker was attending a funeral.

From the video, Salasya was recorded asking the said person to sit down and stop interrupting his speech. However, the unidentified person continued moving towards where Salasya before he slapped him.

Further altercation was stopped after a group of individuals believed to be his security manhandled the man and moved him away from the visibly agitated Salasya.

“Go and sit down! You go back and sit down!” Salasya was heard shouting before slapping the person.

Reports allege that the MP disagreed with the said person over speaking protocol leading to the fracas.

By the time of this publication, Salasya had not responded over the incident.

His actions however sparked uproar from a section of Kenyans. Led by Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale, they condemned Salasya for resolving into a physical confrontation arguing that it was tainting the name of lawmakers in the country.

“Kenyan voters must seriously retrospect,” Khalwale stated.

“What has become of our politicians? Since Peter Salasya took over power he has totally changed,” a social media user questioned Salasya’s actions.

Another social media user wrote “Is this what youthful leaders bring to the table? Why would a man slap someone who is literally in his own world? Peter Salasya has let many of us down.”
