The mother to one terror convicts who escaped from Kamiti Maximum Prison has broken her silence following the arrest of her son.
Terror suspects Musharaf Abdalla alias Alex Shikanda (34), Joseph Juma Odhiambo (30) and Mohammed Ali Abikar (35) were arrested in Enzio forest in Mwingi East, Kitui County.
The three terror convicts escaped from Kamiti Maximum Prison on November 15th morning were arrested on Thursday November 18th in Kitui county.
The trio was arrested following a tip-off from the public and are believed to have been heading to Somalia.
Musharaf Abdalla’s mother Zuena Hamisi opened up about her son’s past life while speaking during an interview with Citizen TV.
Mrs Hamisi revealed that her terrorist son who left home when he was 14-years-old still remains her polite boy she knew.
She said that Musharraf was a very good boy who used to teach others Islam in Ekero, Mumias, Kakamega county.
Musharaf’s mother said that her son went to school in Busia but he couldn’t continue beyond Class five because the father died.
She explained that her son then embarked on Madrasa training which saw him go to Nairobi and then Kilifi County.
Musharraf’s aunt Khadija Shibwao told Citizen that they came to learn of that their kin is a terrorist through the media.
Musharraf was arrested on September 30th 2012 and was later on convicted of having been involved in terrorism activities and was sentenced to 22 years in prison.
The mother is now making a passionate appeal to the government to forgive her son because she says he is just a normal human who made a mistake.
