Kisumu governor Anyang Nyong’o’s son, Peter Junior Nyong’o alias Flower Boy, is among Kenyans who have made headlines for unique reasons.
Junior, who is also an actor like his elder sister Lupita, made headlines in the past because of his sense of fashion whereby he sometimes dresses like a woman.
Not only does he put on dresses, Junior has also been spotted wearing make up and one would easily conclude that he is gay.
The governor’s son however proved that he is not gay in July 2020 by marrying musician Wanja Wahoro, after being engaged in 2019. Surprisingly, he went ahead and referred to himself as Mr. Wanja according to a tweet by his wife.
In October 2018, during the 10th anniversary of Blankets and Wine, Junior boldly showed up for the event dressed in a maxi dress. Asked on why he chose to dress like that he said, “There is no thought process my G. If a piece of clothing looks good it looks good.”
Another shocking incident was when the governor’s son posed for photos wearing a red thong and matching heels. The photos were titled What if Adam was Eve.
A lot of Kenyans thought that that was a bit too much as others got amazed by the creativity including Lupita, who commented on the photos saying, “Hahaha. I have never EVER thought of that!”
To clear any doubts, Junior went ahead and posted his throwback photo dressed in a purple dress while saying that he has always been like that.
In 2019 he also showed up for an event in Nairobi dressed in a long black dress that had a touch of African print. He completed the look by putting on sneakers.
On other occasions Junior has been photographed half naked with flowers pinned on his head.
Junior Nyong’o first came into the limelight after appearing on Ellen DeGeneres’ selfie during the 2014 Oscar Awards in Hollywood, Los Angeles where his sister emerged winner of the Best Supporting Actress category.
