Ford Kenya leader and Bungoma senator Moses Wetang’ula almost ruined DP William Ruto’s ‘party’ in Nakuru county.
The Deputy President, together with ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi , Wetang’ula and their allies pitched camp in Nakuru county to popularize Kenya Kwanza’s agendas and drum up support for DP Ruto’s presidential candidature in the coming elections.
As the norm, leaders present addressed the locals, and Wetang’ula’s address came after that of Musalia.
Instead of calling upon residents to support Kenya Kwanza, the senator became confused and was a second away from asking them to support Azimio. He however realized his mistake and immediately corrected it.
“We have come here so that we see eye to eye. We have come with William Ruto, Musalia Mudavadi, Rigathi Gachagua and many others to ask you one thing, support Azz…our group Kenya Kwanza that wants to bring you a government that considers citizens’ interest,” Wetang’ula said.
After the slip of tongue, Wetang’ula went ahead and called upon The National Cohesion and Integration Commission to summon Murang’a Women Rep Sabina Chege over her poll rigging remarks.
“First of all, we want to see NCIC led by Rev. Kobia summon the woman MP Sabina Chege to write a statement on what she knows about plans to rig elections because such reckless statements can take us back to 2007. As Kenya Kwanza, we don’t want to shed any blood or destroy any property because of a political contest.
“We also want Raila Odinga to tell us if Sabina Chege was talking on his behalf or she was just speaking about her stupid things,” Wetang’ula said.
The senator also called upon IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati to distance himself from Sabina’s reckless comments while telling the woman rep to watch her tongue.
Wetang’ula however is not the only one who has been affected by the slip of tongue. During Kenya Kwanza rally in Busia, Nambale parliamentary seat aspirant, Bernard Nandieki, also mistakenly endorsed Azimio before correcting his mistake.
